How to enter and the standard rules
How to Enter:
It is quick and easy to make a submission for the 2008 Tourism ExSEllence Awards. Here are the simple guidelines that you need to follow.
- All entry submissions must be completed in full including supporting materials and must be received by 5pm Friday 27th June 2008. Please supply two copies of your submission/form and one set of supporting materials.
- Entry submissions should take into account the general judging criteria outlined and category-specific notes, highlighting all relevant aspects of your organisation’s operation, services and products, innovation and commitment to quality. You can also refer to the detailed criteria contained in the entry forms.
- This can be accompanied by supporting information (eg brochures, leaflets, certificates, copies of awards. There is no limit on the amount of supporting information that can be submitted).
- Don’t forget, you can enter one or more categories (please provide a separate entry for each).
- Completed entries should be sent by e-mail to getdiscovered2008@tourismse.com, by post for the attention of Dan Holmes, Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2008, Tourism South East, Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, SO50 5JH; or by fax: 023 8062 5449 for the attention of Dan Holmes.
Standard Rules:
The following rules apply to all categories
- The awards are open to Tourism South East members and non-members.
- The majority of the awards are open to individual businesses and organisations. For most categories, groups (eg hotel groups, leisure chains, trade associations) cannot enter as an entity. The exception is the Tourism Website category where a group/company, association, local authority, consortium etc may enter a single website. All entrants must be based in the Tourism South East region.
- The eligibility and assessment period for activity covers 1 January 2007 - 31 May 2008. Entries will be judged on their performance during this period. Events, campaigns and other initiatives used as evidence should have taken place during this period.
- Judging, including visiting businesses in person, will take place during July and August 2008. A shortlist will be announced in September 2008. Each entry will be judged against the appropriate general and category-specific criteria.
- Judges will be drawn from across the entire spectrum of the tourism industry. No judges will assess a category in which they have a potential conflict of interest.
- Winning entries in the appropriate categories will be automatically entered into the 2009 Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, managed by VisitBritain.
- We are on hand to answer any queries about the entry process and criteria. Please contact Dan Holmes on 023 8062 5449 or email: getdiscovered2008@tourismse.com.
